Te Ara Ōtākaro Avon River Trail

Christchurch City Council | Avon-Otakaro Network
THE QUESTION
The Te Ara Ōtākaro Avon River Trail logo design competition engaged the city in creating an iconic mark for the trail. How can the river’s connections with its people be celebrated through a story-driven logo design?
THE OUTCOME
This winning design celebrates the many ways locals connect with the river. It is multi-interpretive: as a river, tuna (long-finned eel), footprint and water.
